Uncompromising Standards.
Professional Governance.

At U.M.A.C, we believe that grassroots competitors deserve the exact same level of safety, structure, and professionalism as elite-level athletes. Hosting a safe, fair, and successful martial arts championship doesn’t happen by accident. Behind the scenes, our organizing team utilizes a rigorous, multi-stage compliance checklist to ensure every single aspect of tournament day is strictly regulated. We set the bar incredibly high so that your students can focus entirely on their performance.

The U.M.A.C Compliance Checklist

We don’t leave event management to chance. Before a single competitor steps onto the tatami, our event goes through a grueling internal auditing process.

  • Rigorous Risk Assessments: From the layout of the matted areas to the crowd flow in the venue, comprehensive risk assessments are completed and signed off well before the doors open.
  • BMABA Endorsement: Because our internal standards are so strict, U.M.A.C is proudly endorsed and regulated by the British Martial Arts & Boxing Association (BMABA).
  • Fully Insured: Our event, officials, and venue are backed by comprehensive, specialized martial arts event insurance.

Safeguarding & Welfare Above All

Child protection and competitor welfare are non-negotiable. We maintain a fortress-like approach to safeguarding so parents and instructors have total peace of mind.

  • Vetted Officials: Every referee, judge, and core staff member is carefully vetted.
  • Designated Safeguarding Leads: We have trained, dedicated safeguarding officers on-site and accessible throughout the entire event.
  • Secure Environment: Strict protocols are in place for spectator management, photography, and video recording to protect our junior competitors.

Medical Safety & Protection

Martial arts is a contact sport, and we prepare accordingly. We leave absolutely nothing to chance when it comes to the physical safety of our attendees.

  • Dedicated First Aid: Fully qualified and equipped medical personnel are stationed ringside at all times. No bout begins without a medic in place.
  • Emergency Infrastructure: We don’t just rely on a first aid kit. As part of our U.M.A.C compliance, we pre-notify local emergency services and the nearest A&E departments about our event capacity and timings, ensuring that in the highly unlikely event of a major emergency, the infrastructure is already briefed and prepared.
  • Venue Hazard Mapping: Long before the mats go down, our team conducts a complete venue sweep—mapping out emergency exits, checking fire alarm protocols, and calculating exact floor-space-to-competitor ratios to prevent overcrowding.
  • Equipment Standards: All competitor safety gear is subject to strict inspection to ensure it meets our protection criteria before they enter the ring.

Fair Play & Ethical Officiating

A grassroots tournament should build confidence, not break it. We are committed to an ego-free, strictly managed competitive environment.

  • Regulated Matchmaking: Divisions are meticulously organized by age, grade and depending on umbers even weight to ensure fair, safe, and balanced matchups.
  • Qualified Referees: Our officials aren’t just volunteers; they are experienced martial artists trained to prioritize safety, enforce the rules accurately, and recognize when to stop a bout.
